# Welcome

## VOID Protocol

**Privacy for on-chain money, without giving up custody.**

VOID Protocol is a **private financial layer for Robinhood Chain**.

Deposit public tokens into VOID and receive a private balance made up of encrypted notes. From there, you can send privately, trade supported assets and withdraw when you choose, while protecting the link between your public wallet and private-note history.

{% hint style="info" %}
VOID is **non-custodial**.

Only your wallet can authorize spending your notes.
{% endhint %}

Zero-knowledge proofs allow the chain to verify that each private action is valid without revealing your note secrets.

### Live on Robinhood Chain Testnet

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Network</strong></td><td>Robinhood Chain Testnet</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Chain ID</strong></td><td>46630</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Status</strong></td><td>Live for testing</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="warning" %}
VOID is currently **unaudited testnet software**.

Mainnet is planned only after completion of the required external security review and final launch checks.

Testnet tokens have **no monetary value**.
{% endhint %}

### Explore VOID

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Deposit</strong></td><td>Move supported public assets into your private balance.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Private Send</strong></td><td>Send value privately to another VOID user.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Private Buy / Sell</strong></td><td>Trade supported assets from your private balance.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Withdraw</strong></td><td>Move funds from private balance back to a public wallet.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Current Status

VOID is live on Robinhood Chain Testnet for **team and community testing**.

#### What You Can Do Today

You can use the VOID app to:

* connect a supported wallet
* deposit supported test assets
* unlock and view your private balance
* send privately
* buy and sell supported test assets
* swap one private balance into another with **Private Swap** (`/swap`)
* withdraw to a public wallet
* use the testnet faucet

Private trades from your private balance are submitted by the **VOID relayer**, which pays the network gas on testnet.

On testnet, **Private Send** and **Withdraw** are also submitted by the VOID relayer, which pays the gas and appears as the on-chain sender instead of your wallet. A Private Send keeps the amount, asset and recipient hidden.

**Gasless Swap** (`/gasless`) is live on testnet as a public swap from your wallet. Open it from the app menu.

### Not Live Yet

The following are planned but not currently live:

* mainnet contracts
* mainnet VOID token
* mainnet liquidity
* local browser proving
* note backup and recovery
* enforced association sets
* selective disclosure
* Check+

### The Simple Idea

A public blockchain normally exposes wallet activity.

VOID introduces a private balance built from encrypted notes.

The blockchain can verify that a private action is valid using zero-knowledge proofs **without exposing the private note itself**.

{% hint style="info" %}
VOID reduces unnecessary public exposure while keeping users in control of their own funds.
{% endhint %}

### Security Before Mainnet

A full external security review is required before mainnet launch.

The planned review includes:

* mainnet contracts
* VOID token
* Uniswap v4 launch hook
* LP locker
* relevant launch permissions and configuration

Mainnet is planned only after:

* the required security review
* final production deployment testing
* production-readiness checks
* final launch verification

{% hint style="warning" %}
No mainnet launch date has been confirmed.

Security and production readiness take priority over launch timing.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://void-protocol-2.gitbook.io/void-protocol-docs/start-here/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
