# Frequently Asked Questions

## Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about using VOID on **Robinhood Chain Testnet**.

### Using VOID

#### What is VOID?

VOID is a **non-custodial privacy layer on Robinhood Chain**.

It allows users to move supported assets into a private balance and use them for supported private actions such as:

* Private Send
* Private Buy
* Private Sell
* Withdraw

#### Is VOID live on mainnet?

No.

VOID is currently running on **Robinhood Chain Testnet, Chain ID 46630**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Testnet assets have no monetary value.

Do not use real funds.
{% endhint %}

#### Do I need an account?

No.

VOID does not use usernames, passwords or email accounts.

You connect a supported wallet and sign to unlock your private balance.

#### What is my VOID address?

Your VOID address is the private receiving address shown on the **Receive** screen.

It is not the same as your public wallet address.

Use it when another VOID user sends you funds with **Private Send**.

### Fees & Gas

#### Are there fees?

Private Buy and Private Sell currently charge a **0.5% VOID trade fee** on testnet.

The fee goes to the VOID treasury.

Mainnet fees may change.

There is currently no VOID protocol fee on:

* Deposit
* Private Send
* Withdraw

{% hint style="info" %}
Underlying pool fees, price impact and network gas may still apply separately.
{% endhint %}

#### Who pays gas?

It depends on the action.

| Action                               | Who Pays Gas?                                  |
| ------------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------- |
| **Deposit**                          | Your wallet                                    |
| **Private Send**                     | VOID relayer                                   |
| **Private Buy from private balance** | VOID relayer |
| **Private Sell**                     | VOID relayer                                   |
| **Withdraw**                         | VOID relayer                                   |
| **Private Swap**                     | VOID relayer                                   |
| **Gasless Swap** | VOID relayer, charged in the token you receive |

#### Is Private Swap live?

Yes, on testnet.

Private Swap (`/swap`) is listed in the app menu as **Private Swap**. It swaps one private balance into another. The VOID relayer submits each transaction and pays the gas, so your wallet is not the on-chain sender.

The 0.5% VOID trade fee applies to each step of the swap. A swap through an intermediate asset takes two steps, and the steps are not atomic.

#### Is Gasless Swap live?

Yes, on testnet.

Gasless Swap (`/gasless`) is live on testnet and listed in the app menu as **Gasless Swap**. It is a **public swap** from your wallet, not a private one: swap gas is taken from the token you receive.

A token's first gasless swap needs a one-time approval. A wallet that holds enough ETH pays it, and the relayer covers it only for wallets with too little ETH.

Private trading from your private balance is also gas-free to the user on testnet because the VOID relayer pays the network gas. Private Send and Withdraw are also submitted by the VOID relayer on testnet, so your wallet pays no gas for them and is not the on-chain sender. If the relayer is unavailable, the app says so and offers a clearly labelled option to submit from your own wallet instead, which pays the ETH gas and appears as the on-chain sender.

### Privacy

#### What does VOID hide?

VOID can hide information such as:

* transferred amounts inside Private Send
* the direct sender-to-recipient relationship
* private-note balances
* your wallet as the direct sender of private trades from your private balance

#### What remains public?

Public blockchain activity can still include:

* deposits
* withdrawals
* underlying DEX trades
* commitments
* nullifiers
* Merkle roots
* contract interactions
* the VOID relayer address

{% hint style="warning" %}
VOID improves privacy but does **not** make users invisible.

The current testnet anonymity set is still small.
{% endhint %}

#### Are Private Buy and Private Sell completely hidden?

No.

When trading from private balance, the VOID relayer is the on-chain sender instead of your wallet.

However, the underlying DEX trade remains public, including information such as:

* market
* amounts
* transaction time

#### Can the hosted proof service see my private data?

The hosted proof service receives the prover inputs required to generate a zero-knowledge proof.

It does not control your spending key and cannot independently spend your funds.

Local browser proving is planned to remove this privacy dependency.

#### Can VOID see my seed phrase?

No.

VOID does not need your seed phrase and will never ask for it.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Never share your seed phrase or private key with VOID, GitBook, Telegram, Discord or anyone claiming to represent the team.
{% endhint %}

### VOID Token

#### Has the VOID token launched?

No.

The mainnet VOID token has **not launched**.

Robinhood Chain Testnet uses a testnet VOID token (`0xD68E089a7bc95783dB1C883ed40Bc3E61d368fb6`). The older VEIL-branded test tokens are retired.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Testnet VOID has no monetary value and is not the future mainnet VOID token.
{% endhint %}

#### What is the planned VOID supply?

The planned mainnet VOID supply is:

**1,000,000,000 VOID**

The token is planned as:

* ERC-20
* 6 decimals
* fixed supply
* no additional minting after deployment
* no token-level transfer tax

#### Where will VOID launch?

The planned launch venue is **Uniswap v4 on Robinhood Chain**.

The primary launch pair is planned as **VOID / ETH**.

### Mainnet & Audit Status

#### Has VOID been audited?

The current testnet should be treated as **unaudited testnet software**.

A full external security review is required before mainnet launch.

An external security review by **Cyberscope** is in progress and is not complete. It covers the VOID token, the Uniswap v4 launch hook and the LP lockers. Before mainnet, an audit of the mainnet protocol contracts, the Noir circuits and verifier integration, and deployment configuration and permissions is **planned**. Audit reports will be published.

#### What must happen before mainnet?

Mainnet is planned after completion of:

* external security review
* final production deployment testing
* mainnet contract verification
* production infrastructure hardening
* launch-hook and LP-locker verification
* final governance and key-management checks
* final launch-readiness sign-off

{% hint style="info" %}
No mainnet launch date has been confirmed.

Security and production readiness take priority over launch timing.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://void-protocol-2.gitbook.io/void-protocol-docs/frequently-asked-questions/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
