# Private Buy

Private Buy lets you buy supported tokens and receive them directly into your **private VOID balance**.

The trade is executed on-chain through the underlying DEX liquidity pool.

The swap remains public, while the tokens you receive arrive as a **private note**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Private Buy protects the link between your wallet and private balance when paying from private balance.

The underlying pool execution itself remains public.
{% endhint %}

### Markets

Available markets on Robinhood Chain Testnet:

* **VOID / WETH**
* **VOID / tUSDG**
* **WETH / tUSDG**

VOID trades are routed through the **ETH / VOID Uniswap v4 pool** (1% pool fee). Its temporary launch tax has ended, so VOID trades now pay **0% launch tax**.

Both legacy test VEIL tokens (6-decimal and the earlier 18-decimal token) are retired and are not used for any Private Buy route.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Testnet VOID has no monetary value and is not the future mainnet VOID token.
{% endhint %}

### Steps

1. Connect your wallet and unlock your private balance.
2. Open **Private Buy**.
3. Choose the market, amount and payment source.
4. Review the quote and **0.5% VOID trade fee**.
5. Confirm within **120 seconds**.
6. Bought tokens arrive as a private note.

### Trade Settings

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Default Slippage</strong></td><td>1%</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Maximum Price Impact</strong></td><td>3%</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Quote Lifetime</strong></td><td>120 seconds</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fees

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>VOID Trade Fee</strong></td><td>0.5% on testnet. Mainnet fees may change.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Pool Costs</strong></td><td>Underlying pool fee and price impact still apply.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Gas from Private Balance</strong></td><td>Paid by the VOID relayer.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Limits

* minimum spend when paying from private balance: **1 tUSDG**, **0.0002 WETH** or **200 VOID** (no minimum when paying from your public wallet)
* no practical per-note limit for 6-decimal VOID
* larger testnet trades may exceed the 3% price-impact cap
* USDG trades display an issuer-freeze warning

{% hint style="warning" %}
Testnet liquidity is limited.

Larger trades may be rejected if price impact exceeds **3%**.
{% endhint %}

### What Is Public

The underlying pool swap remains visible on-chain, including:

* market
* amounts
* transaction time

#### Paying from Private Balance

When paying from your private balance, the **VOID relayer** is the on-chain sender.

Your wallet is not the direct sender of the swap transaction.

#### Paying from Public Wallet

When paying from your public wallet, your wallet submits the trade directly.

The transaction is therefore linked to your public wallet address.

{% hint style="info" %}
Private Buy does not make the underlying DEX trade invisible.

Its privacy benefit comes from separating your private balance from your public wallet when the trade is submitted through the VOID relayer.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://void-protocol-2.gitbook.io/void-protocol-docs/user-guide/private-buy.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
